New students starting in the Fall 2025 Term, including students transferring in from another college and dual enrollment students, should attend New Student Orientation.
We will host three orientation sessions for students starting Carroll in the fall. We will have two in-person sessions and one virtual session through Microsoft Teams in August before school starts. Any student can attend either of the sessions. Check in for on-campus sessions will be at the front entrance of the A building. Check in will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of orientation. Your attendance and participation are expected! Students who do not participate will miss important information.
Please note that orientation sessions are only for students. Parents, family members, and guests who accompany students to orientation will attend a separate session at the same time. The only session for everyone is the faculty and student panel. Students can include parents and guests on their RSVP form.
Do you have a parent, family member or guest who would prefer the family and guest session in Spanish? You can choose this option on the RSVP form. Please note this option is only available for the in-person sessions.

There will also be time to get your student ID, textbooks, and more!
The virtual orientation will be a continuous session covering the topics listed below. At the end, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with faculty if you’d like.
The schedule for the virtual session on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:00 pm is as follows:
Log into the session starting at 5:45 pm
Welcome will be from 6:00 to 6:05 pm
Student and Faculty Panel will be from 6:05 to 6:30 pm
Virtual campus tour from 6:30 to 6:50 pm
Training on the technology platforms you’ll use at Carroll from 6:50 to 7:10 pm
Session on getting involved on campus and making the most of your college experience from 7:10 to 7:30 pm
Session on wellbeing resources designed to support students’ mental, physical, and emotional health from 7:30 to 7:50 pm
Connect with faculty from 7:50 to 8:10 pm

Orientation is an important part of setting yourself up for success. Here’s why you need to be there:
You’ll meet other new students starting the same semester as you.
You can talk with faculty about what to expect as a college student to prepare you for classes and workload.
You’ll be better at navigating campus on your first day.
You’ll know the resources that are here to support you so you can take advantage of them from day one.
You’ll be able to get your student ID and textbooks to be ready for the first day of classes!

Please note that you will be required to log into your Carroll account at orientation. Please make sure you have logged in before attending and that you have your username and password with you.
Bring a current photo ID with you if you want to get your student ID at orientation.
Please bring a copy of your schedule or be able to access it on your phone if you want a personalized classroom tour.
We encourage students to join the virtual orientation on a laptop with a camera and a microphone so you can interact with the presenters and other students. Test your device before the start of the session and log in a few minutes before the start time so you have time to troubleshoot any issues. If you are experiencing any trouble, please contact Student Technology Assistance at 410-386-8060.
Parents, family members, and other guests who accompany their student to orientation will attend a separate session at the same time facilitated by the Senior Director of Admissions. The session will provide helpful information on how to best support your student.
